• Level 1 Charging: This is the slowest method of charging an electric car, but also the easiest to find—all you need is a three-prong 110V home outlet and your car’s charging cable. While you can get a full battery charge using this method, it takes an hour to get 2.4 miles of battery charge, so plan to stay plugged in overnight, at least.
• Level 2 Charging: Home charging stations like the the Mercedes-Benz-recommended ChargePoint Home Flex, fall into this category. Your charging time will increase to 20-30 miles of charge in an hour over a 240V circuit. You’ll still need around 11 hours for a full battery charge, but it’s safe and simple to plug in at home and charge while you sleep or enjoy your home time.
• Level 3 Charging: Also called DC Fast Charging, you’ll find this on many public charging stations. These are the electric car chargers you’ll want to find when you’re on longer road trips. They can take your battery from an 11 percent charge to a full battery in under an hour, depending on the battery size.

Where Can I Charge My Electric Car When I’m on the Go?

In the meantime you can use any electric car charger, but you’ll likely prefer using Electrify America charging stations. That’s because you’ll receive two years of complimentary 30-minute Level 3 charging at their stations when you purchase an electric Mercedes-Benz.
